Epic Games is a video game and software company that develops and publishes its own video games and offers its game engine technology to other developers. The company was founded by founder-CEO Tim Sweeney in 1991. The company’s game engine, Unreal Engine, powers notable first-party games such as Fortnite, Rocket League and the Gears of War series.
We believe that the above catalysts should meaningfully benefit Epic Games, who we believe is already well-positioned to capture a wide spectrum of gamers through Fortnite while offering its best-in-class game engine to AAA developers worldwide.
Outside of gaming, we expect Epic Games to demonstrate the utility of its engine to non-gaming sectors, with particular emphasis on film and video and various digital twin and simulation use cases within enterprise.
